chapter 4: surreal has become the everyday
collage or montage provides a methodology for looking into everyday life in surrealism. the juxtaposition of random things creates a defamiliarization with the everyday. this allow the everyday to become vivid again by making ordinary things strange through transfering it to different contexts and using unusual combinations.
surrealism’s attention to everyday life stands the everyday on its head.
